Where the Wachau ends, the Kamptal, one of Austria's best wine regions, joins it. Reason enough to take this fact into account with a special place and building. With the LOISIUM Wine & Spa Hotel in the small Lower Austrian town of Langenlois, none other than the US star architect Steven Holl, who is committed to deconstructivism, has created a completely extraordinary refuge for wine enjoyment and design. LOISIUM sees itself as an "ambassador and platform for the region", as the majority of the products come from the immediate region.
It is above all the numerous wine symbols that are revealed in the architecture, furnishings and atmosphere. One of Holl's central wine elements: The cork texture on the staircase banister and on the lamps. The backlit room doors are also reminiscent of the cellar labyrinth. The vault is also quoted on the yellow and black fabrics, which can be found in all 112 rooms in the main building, the "GrüVe House". The striped exposed concrete in the corridors in turn stands for the rows of vineyards. In short: wine as far as the eye can see. Despite the large cubature, total transparency prevails throughout the complex. Even in the lobby, guests can enjoy a breathtaking view over the vineyards. The landscape is drawn into the interior - and the hotel rooms seem to extend as far as the vineyards. The extension, the "Pinot House", which will open in summer 2021 with 26 rooms, four suites and a conference center, forms the final building block of the overall concept developed 20 years ago to the west of the main building.
The LOISIUM Spa Club by Saint Charles covers over 1,200 m2 and features a year-round heated outdoor pool, a vineyard lawn with a natural pond, a bio-sauna, a Finnish sauna and a unique amethyst steam bath and bathing pond, which provides moisture and warmth and has a cleansing, relaxing and nourishing effect on body and soul. The LOISIANS, as the LOISIUM staff call themselves, will read your every wish from your beaming eyes and pamper you all the way to the sunbathing lawn. As an absolute highlight, we recommend the exclusive Saint Charles (Wine) Treatments - relaxing massages and beauty treatments that match the hotel's high standards in every respect.
