Zugspitz Resort
At the foot of the Zugspitze, nestled amid the Tyrolean mountains of Ehrwald, lies a vacation resort that interprets the notion of a family hotel with remarkable generosity. The 4-star Superior Zugspitz Resort marries alpine nature, sumptuous accommodations, rejuvenating wellness facilities, and an extraordinary realm of experiences for children.
The pièce de résistance for the youngest guests is DIDI’s Water World. An adventure pool, pirate ship, baby pool, and five slides ensure that even a rainy day becomes a vacation experience. The 120-meter-long racing slide is particularly spectacular. The offerings are rounded out by a two-story play area, an indoor go-kart track, a bouldering wall, a movie theater, and a dedicated teen lounge. A childcare programme for children aged three and up also affords parents the opportunity to carve out time for themselves.
Splashing Fun for Everyone
The expansive wellness area demonstrates that a family holiday here is not solely about action. In addition to the panoramic adventure pool and heated outdoor area, there is a sauna zone featuring a Finnish sauna, bio sauna, steam room, saltwater grotto, infrared cabin, whirlpool, and relaxation rooms. A dedicated family zone with a textile-required sauna, steam bath and relaxation room has also been created, allowing younger guests to sample wellness while the classic sauna area remains reserved for adults.

The resort also caters to a variety of needs when it comes to accommodations. In addition to double rooms, junior suites, spacious family suites and apartments are available. Certain categories offer separate sleeping areas, and the most spacious units can accommodate up to six guests. New rooftop rooms and two rooftop suites, each approximately 100 square meters, crown the collection with a particularly premium accommodation option that commands views of the surrounding peaks. Natural wood, warm materials, and a modern Alpine aesthetic define every residence. The resort’s master plan now also encompasses a dedicated camping area. The adjacent campground is classified as a 5-star facility and allows guests to combine the freedom of camping with the resort’s amenities. The swimming pool, wellness center, dining options, and activity areas are thus open not only to hotel guests. This expands the resort into a vacation destination where different forms of travel come together—from classic hotel rooms to campgrounds and glamping experiences.
What is particularly noteworthy is the consistency with which the Zugspitz Resort caters to different age groups. Young children have their own adventure areas, as do teenagers; parents can choose between family activities, wellness, and quiet time. At the same time, the mountain landscape remains the central theme. The view of the Zugspitze, the fresh alpine air, and the natural surroundings of Ehrwald give the resort its distinctive setting.
