Make-over for Pestana Alvor Praia

Icon of the Algarve shines in new splendor

Following a complete redesign, the Pestana Alvor Praia is now welcoming its guests back. The Pestana Hotel Group invested a total of six million euros to redesign the iconic hotel, which was built in 1967. It became known as the first five-star hotel in the Algarve and has since become a symbol of national hospitality.

Situated on a cliff overlooking the Algarve's most beautiful beaches, the hotel offers modern comfort, an open design and an all-round customer-oriented service with new concepts such as the "Grab & Go" service, which allows guests to order food, pick it up and eat it on the beach, in their room or by the pool.

The hotel has a total of 202 rooms, divided into eight categories: Deluxe Garden, Superior Deluxe Garden (first floor), Deluxe Sea, Superior Deluxe Sea, Garden Suite, Suite with Sea View, Luxury Suite and 60 apartments.

The iconic marble spiral staircase from the 1960s, the hotel's landmark, was preserved during the renovation and integrated into the contemporary new design. On the middle floor, which offers a magnificent view of the gardens and the sea, is the D. Henrique Bar with a new terrace and two fireplaces.

Another highlight is the new à la carte restaurant with reinterpreted Portuguese cuisine and a large selection of national wines carefully selected by Chef Dominique Lienhard.

On the lower floor, guests can make use of the pool and the Ocean Bar, where they can pick up snacks via "Grab & Go" for trips to the beach or enjoy a drink. The Pestana Alvor Praia also offers its guests direct access to the beach, where they can relax on the Bali beds or use the new fitness room, indoor pool and spa.

The Alvor Praia is the sixth Pestana hotel in Alvor. The hotel group has a total of twelve hotels with a total of 3000 beds in the Algarve.
