Sofitel Frankfurt Opera: New opening on the Main

For many years, the location opposite the Alte Oper was the most sought-after hotel location in Frankfurt.

The French AccorHotels Group was awarded the contract in 2011 and subsequently announced the opening of the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera. On October 20, 2016, the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera was opened in the presence of the French Prime Minister Manuel Valls, the Lord Mayor of the City of Frankfurt am Main Peter Feldmann, Laurent Picheral, CEO AccorHotels Central & Eastern Europe, Gregory Maliassas, Senior Vice President Luxury Brands Central Europe, Dr. Christian Elleke, owner of the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera, and Denis de Schrevel, General Manager of the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera.

Denis de Schrevel, a thoroughbred hotelier who has already worked in the same capacity for Sofitel hotels in Belgium, Morocco, Portugal, Egypt and Bora Bora, wants to set standards in the "haute hotel industry" with the hotel. The hotel offers 119 rooms and 31 suites, the Schönemann Restaurant and Lili's Bar, both named after Goethe's great love Lili Schönemann, its own pâtisserie, the 400 square meter So Spa & So Fit Wellness, a boardroom, three meeting rooms and a ballroom for events for up to 300 people.

The interior design and layout of the luxury hotel bears the signature of French interior designer Nicolas Adnet and his Parisian studio "Hertrich & Adnet Studio". For the Sofitel Frankfurt Opera, Marc Hertrich and Nicolas Adnet were inspired by the French "Hôtel particulier". Their aim is to revive the past without recreating anything and to bring the characteristics of the "Hôtels particuliers" into 21st century Frankfurt. Hôtels particuliers" are the large private townhouses of the 17th and 18th centuries, which had a reception area, a reception desk, a salon, a visitors' room and a library. They represented the pinnacle of French "art de vivre", places where the art of living was expressed through comfort, service, art, culture and gastronomy.

Lukas Sulik and his team cook in the Schönemann restaurant. The aim is to surprise guests with products and dishes that they may know but have never eaten before. Classics of French cuisine are reinterpreted and supplemented with products from the region. Ran Hoch, the Tel Aviv-born bar manager, focuses on a large selection of whiskey and rum, classic cocktails as well as his own creations, infusions of gin, vodka, rum and tequila and a variety of gins.

Viet Anh Nguyen brings the fine art of French patisserie to Frankfurt. Her specialties will not only be reserved for guests of the hotel and restaurant. Cakes, pastries and desserts can be purchased in the hotel store and taken home. The Sofitel Frankfurt Opera not only wants to win over guests from all over the world, but also inspire the people of Frankfurt.
