The Bodenmaiser Hof has been writing hotel history for over a century: Already rooted in the Bavarian Forest in the fourth generation, the owner family Geiger-Pauli has always relied on local color. What began in 1923 with a small lemonade and malt beer factory is far from ending today with the traditional house name "Rundai" - a reference to a once round extension. In the 3,500m2 spa with its black distillery sauna, Swiss stone pine moss relaxation room, natural bathing pond and the "HeimatLagune" indoor and outdoor pool, the region sets the tone, as does the range of treatments from beer baths to mud packs. The hotel's cuisine is also sustainable. Meat, fish, fruit and vegetables are sourced almost exclusively from local farmers and suppliers.

Holidaymakers can also enjoy free guided hiking and cycling tours through the Bavarian Forest National Park, which is right on the doorstep. And in the evening, they can look forward to a distillate tasting in the senior manager's private distillery. Those who want to forgo the award-winning Rundai gin as a digestif for the sake of their health can instead indulge in the high-proof distillate - contained in the Rundai Spa by Sandra products - at least on the outside.

Developed with passion and expertise by hotel manager Sandra Geiger-Pauli, the hotel's own cosmetics line contains the fine juniper schnapps and nourishes the skin with its natural anti-ageing ingredients. From Bodenmaiser Hof, it is only a few steps to the Bavarian Forest Nature Park, whose wild nature is waiting to be discovered on foot or by bike. The four-star superior hotel provides Nordic walking and hiking poles as well as (e-)bikes for hire. In addition to guided outdoor tours with the hotel's own guides, the daily vitality program also includes fitness sessions ranging from yoga and Pilates to back fitness classes.
