Truly magical: LA VILLA Christmas market

The traditional LA VILLA Christmas market attracts visitors to Lake Starnberg for the 24th time.

While guests at LA VILLA can enjoy the lake and park in the still mild autumn temperatures, preparations for the traditional LA VILLA Christmas market are already in full swing. The market, which always takes place on the first weekend of Advent, is being held for the 24th time this year - and once again, numerous visitors are expected to flock to the shores of Lake Starnberg. The idyllic backdrop of the wintry parkland around the former Knorr-Schlössl, the exquisite selection of local artisans who present their artefacts directly on the lakeshore and in the boathouse, as well as all the Christmas treats from the LA VILLA kitchen, which are offered at various huts, provide the special flair that makes the LA VILLA Christmas market so unique. When the tempting aroma of freshly baked waffles, hearty tarte flambée and roasted chestnuts fills the air and the fires crackle by the lake, you get that feeling of Bavarian "Griabigkeit" that makes the Advent season so cozy.


Traditionally, the Advent market is opened on Friday evening by a brass ensemble.
Harpist Antonia Hohberg will elicit heavenly sounds from her instrument on both Saturday and Sunday afternoon. And Jürgen Fliege will be singing Advent and Christmas carols on both evenings at 6 pm - to listen to and sing along to.


The LA VILLA Christmas market is not just a magical place for adults to experience the anticipation of the upcoming festive season with all their senses.
The varied children's program gives boys and girls plenty of scope to realize their own ideas. In the "Edible Christmas tree decorations" workshop, there are no limits to the imagination; children aged 6 to 14 are very welcome. Due to the expected crowds, the creative kneading, shaping, decorating and baking will take place on both weekend days at 1.30 pm, 3.30 pm and 5.30 pm. In addition to the Christmas craft workshop, the calligraphy stand in the Orangery offers pre-Christmas inspiration for young artists. There are Christmas wish lists - including personalized ones on request - which children can fill in and design by hand. The Christ Child is very reluctant to accept wish lists written on a computer or tablet.


The children's ballet from the Starnberg dance school "neues tanzen" should also bring joy to the parents
as well as the films that are shown as part of the children's cinema.
Important to know: As a special service, LA VILLA offers two free shuttle buses to the Advent market: from Starnberg train station (S6)/bus stop next to the station building and from the first parking lot (coming from Starnberg) in Paradies (Possenhofen). Admission to the LA VILLA Christmas market is free!
