Waldorf Astoria Cancun, Mexico

New opening with a view of the endless sea

When travelers think of Cancún's "Zona Hotelera", boisterous American students come to mind. The newly opened Waldorf Astoria is located far away from the hustle and bustle, between a mangrove forest and undeveloped white beaches. Each of the 173 rooms offers a wonderful view of the endless sea from the plunge pool on the balcony. From here, you can easily reach the ancient temples of the Riviera Maya. The elegant interior is reminiscent of Miami's Art Deco hotel palaces - large upholstered armchairs in the lobby like in a movie from the 1930s, wall coverings that shimmer in gold and silver. Those who opt for a "swim-up pool" room have direct access to the two infinity pools and the sea. Guests can simply relax on the white beach, as no motorized watercraft are allowed in this section. And because we're already in Mexico, a passion fruit margarita and a cactus salad are the order of the day at the J'AO pool bar.
