First Launches in the Caribbean

W Hotels has finally landed in the Caribbean. Its Punta Cana all-inclusive outpost features huge suites, boldly designed social spaces, and speakeasy bars. It is located on a private beach in Uvero Alto where only non-motorized watersports are allowed.

Zemi Miches Punta Cana All-Inclusive Resort , part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, is another new arrival in the Caribbean. Located on Playa Esmeralda, the resort takes its design cues from indigenous Taíno culture. Architects Antonio Segundo Imbert, in collaboration with Adriana Hoyos Design and Arkham Projects, has integrated materials native to the Dominican Republic as well as hand-crafted elements in all of the six low-rise buildings. The culinary traditions of the Amalfi Coast, Thai street food, and local Quisqueya treats dominate menus in the 14 restaurants.
