Coulibri Ridge, Dominica
Less than six months old and already received two awards
Although Coulibri Ridge only opened its doors in October 2022, it has already won two awards. The MSN news service ranked the resort among the 25 best eco-lodges in the world, and the Montreal design fair SIDIM awarded it a Grand Prix du Design. The 14 suites in the six lodges are located on a mountain ridge in the middle of an almost 100,000 m2 estate. From the balconies, guests can enjoy fantastic views of the sea, the surrounding forests and tropical gardens. Guests can relax in two pools, the spa and the yoga pavilion. Hotel partners Daniel Langlois and Dominique Marchand spent two decades planning the project. Their research is now benefiting the entire island. Coulibri Ridge demonstrates how rainwater can also be collected in solar systems, how recycled wood can be used to create chic furniture and how stones from the mountains can structurally secure the property. The resort works closely with the community to strengthen Dominica's resilience to hurricanes.
