Arte Hotel Salzburg celebrated its opening in June

IPP HOTELS launches fifth arte Hotel

IPP HOTELS opened its fifth arte hotel at the beginning of June. The previous locations in Krems, Kufstein, Vienna and Linz have now been joined by the Mozart and festival city of Salzburg. Alexander Ipp celebrated the successful launch with numerous guests - including well-known personalities from politics and business.

Jewel of steel, concrete and glass

After two years of construction, the building complex "Perron" (French for platform), as the prestigious project by Kufstein-based construction company Bodner directly at Salzburg Central Station is called, is now complete. The new arte Hotel Salzburg is part of this impressive steel, concrete and glass building. As part of the festive opening event, Alexander Ipp, Managing Director of IPP HOTELS, welcomed numerous guests - including Provincial Parliament President Brigitta Pallauf, Harald Haidenberger (Press Spokesman for Deputy Governor Christian Stöckl), Bernd Huber (Office Manager of Salzburg Mayor Harald Preuner), Wolfgang Kleibel (President of the Salzburg Bar Association), Karl Christoph Gassner (Project Manager for Real Estate at Dr. Helmut Rothenberger Holding GmbH) and many others. Helmut Rothenberger Holding GmbH), Gernot Hörwertner (company spokesman for Salzburger Land Tourismus), building contractor and investor Thomas Bodner, drinks retailer Christoph Morandell, hotelier colleague Georg Imlauer and ÖHV President Michaela Reitterer, Zwettler Bier boss Karl Schwarz and priest Heinrich Wagner.

arte hotel line on course for success

The arte Hotel Linz opened at the beginning of February this year. The arte Hotel Salzburg now represents a further milestone in the expansion of IPP HOTELS to the west. "While the arte Hotel Krems in the Wachau region was still polarizing when it opened in 2008, the arte Hotel Kufstein was eagerly awaited in 2016. The same goes for the subsequent openings in Vienna, Linz and now Salzburg," says Alexander Ipp, delighted with the success story. "We are really delighted that our extremely popular arte hotel line is now also represented in the festival city of Salzburg. Here, art and culture meet a wide range of leisure activities and also offer an inspiring environment for business guests. The extraordinary architecture of the "Perron" fits in perfectly with our hotel concept and the location and connections are also first-class," continues Alexander Ipp.

For guests, the sky is the limit

The arte Hotel Salzburg is not just an architectural sight in itself. The location is also top: the impressive high-rise building is located right next to Salzburg's main train station. The old town is just a ten-minute walk away. It is the second highest building in the city - the view of the old town, Mönchsberg and Kapuzinerberg is just as breathtaking.

Unique hotel and bar offer

The hotel tower houses a total of 120 fully air-conditioned rooms and suites of various sizes and categories spread over 13 floors. In addition, two boarding rooms, the rooftop bar "hu:goes14", a wellness and fitness area and an underground parking garage await guests. The bar is dedicated to the co-founder of the Salzburg Festival, Hugo von Hofmannsthal, and serves 14 different Hugo mixed drinks on the 14th floor. The lobby with the "Trainspotting - Lounge" is also special: the trains can be watched from chilled sofas while enjoying a coffee or drink at the height of the railroad embankment.

Built 90 meters into the ground

At 54 meters high, the hotel building is almost twice as deep as it is high, as it goes down 90 meters. "The footprint is relatively small, measuring just 70 by eleven meters. We therefore had to anchor the building so deeply to prevent the neighboring railroad tracks from shifting and to ensure the stability of the hotel," explains Hotel Director Michaela Kutsch. At the same time, great importance was attached to ensuring that the rooms are well soundproofed.

The name says it all!

Art is an integral part of the arte hotel concept. arte hotels embody uncomplicated, urban and chic living, combined with modern architecture, a clear design language, plenty of light and a regional connection to art and culture. The Salzburg hotel also regularly hosts "artists places". Several times a year, young and creative regional artists and talents are given the opportunity to present their work to a wider public.
The complete interior design of the new arte Hotel Salzburg was once again developed and implemented in collaboration with DERENKO - a design and project management office for the hotel and catering industry.
