60 years of glamor

The Ocean Club, A Four Seasons Resort, Paradise Island, Bahamas

When I was bent over my fresh lobster in the Ocean Club a good 30 years ago, I looked up briefly and suddenly Sean Connery was standing in front of me. Cell phones didn't yet have a video function and of course there was no talk of social media. Of course, I complied with Connery's request "no photos, please". The resort, which has been owned by Four Seasons since 2017, celebrated its 60th birthday last year. The resort opened its doors in 1962 and Sean Connery discovered it in 1965 while filming the James Bond movie "Thunderball". He lived in the exclusive Lyford Key community on Nassau for many years and enjoyed coming to the restaurant here in the evenings. Over the last 60 years, the hotel has lost none of its luxurious aura. Its low-rise "country club" buildings are spread over an area of 14 hectares. The resort also boasts a unique attraction. The terraced Versailles Garden features several 12th century cloisters and classical sculptures. A perfect place for romantic occasions! For its 60th birthday, the Four Seasons team has come up with some special offers: 4 nights for the price of three ("fourth night free" until December 19, 2023) and a discount of up to 20 percent on stays that are paid in full more than two weeks in advance ("advance purchase"). By the way, Lenny Kravitz also recently applied for Bahamian citizenship and can probably be expected here. So it's best to lie in wait.
