In 1929, Hans and Hilde Leeb's vision became reality when they opened their Gasthof Hochschober on Lake Turrach in Carinthia. 96 years and three generations later, the Hochschober is one of the best-known hotels in Austria, yet at its core it is still very close to its origins: a vacation hotel in a special place for exceptional stays. Most of the rooms have a balcony with views of Lake Turrach or the mountains and forests. The 4-star superior hotel ensures an impeccably maintained ambience with ongoing renovations: the Hotel Hochschober has redesigned all of its 116 rooms in recent years. The restaurant parlors, the bar and the wellness area with the crystal spa have also been redesigned. The Waldvilla with its large exercise room and state-of-the-art fitness center is a new place for exercise enthusiasts.

Arnold Pucher, head of the kitchen, and his team combine regional dishes with classics from Austrian cuisine and ideas from all over the world. Specialties from the Alps-Adriatic region set clear accents. Guests can also choose vegan or vegetarian alternatives for all meals. Requests for gluten-, lactose- or fructose-free dishes or special diets are met with a smile by the Hotel Hochschober, as are children's food preferences. Since the start of the 2024 summer season, guests have also had the option of eating at 16:8 even on vacation or sticking to their usual rhythm and eating dinner early. "Interval dining" contributes to a good night's sleep and thus to overall well-being.
