Seevilla Altaussee
3rd place: box seat with lifestyle. The location of the enchanting lakeside villa directly on the shores of Lake Altaussee is unique. Here, between the mountains and the lake, inspiration is combined with pleasure.
Rooms with history and a view
In fact, each of the 59 rooms - especially the suites - offers a 180-degree view over Altaussee, the Loser and the Trisselwand. In the spacious villa rooms, timelessness rests with modern interior accents and natural cotton fabrics in colors typical of the region, which add cheerful touches to the bright ambience - perfect for the night ahead in the large, cuddly soft bed.
Lose yourself in the blue of the lake
A stay here is an experience at any time of year. However, a vacation in Ausseerland is particularly enjoyable when nature slows down its pace: Autumn is the time to relax. It is the mystical time when wafts of mist shroud the lakeshore and you look for cozy places for me-time and enjoyable togetherness. This is a time to immerse yourself in tranquillity, carried by the transition of the seasons, which brings your own rhythm into harmony. A little later, in winter, the snow-covered landscape provides even more natural infinity. In Ausseerland, the quality of "having time" is particularly beautiful in cooler temperatures and guests can recharge their batteries in the Seevilla Spa Refuge!
Culinary delights that connect
The Seevilla kitchen team led by Roland Wechselberger presents regional specialties on the plate in a varied and delightfully colorful way. There are two menus to choose from every day - one is internationally inspired, the other skillfully Austrian. Vegetarian alternatives are also available. Seasonal highlights, such as special Austrian evenings or game and goose dishes, are particularly popular. One product is rarely missing from the menu: char.
The lake's climate gives it its size and the abundance of plankton the delicate pink color of the meat, which is seasoned with rock salt from the local salt pans. Fried, smoked, pickled or simply freshly caught in its natural state - the char combines tradition and culinary art. Another insider tip is the homemade Seevilla gingerbread prepared according to a traditional recipe to take away and give as a gift.
Every morning at the lake is special. The Plätte breakfast provides a particularly successful start. The Plätte is a handmade, flat wooden boat that was traditionally used for fishing and transporting salt. Even today, the boatman navigates the Plätte across the lake at every breakfast. While the guests enjoy regional delicacies, the boatman regales them with anecdotes.
