Bio and wellness resort Stanglwirt
1st place: Experience and revive Tyrolean hospitality - Against the imposing backdrop of the Wilder Kaiser, the Stanglwirt organic and wellness resort offers a well-deserved escape from everyday life.
Balthasar Hauser and his family have shown that hoteliers can realize their visions without losing sight of their roots. "Organic" is a way of life at the Stanglwirt - long before organic and eco became trends. As early as 1980, Balthasar Hauser built an organic hotel using local resources. Most of the meat and dairy products come from the hotel's own 100-hectare farm, while the Stanglwirt's mountain cheese is matured on the hotel's own alpine pasture.
The five-star hotel relies on natural mountain water from its own spring on the Wilder Kaiser, heated by geothermal energy and the sun, to power the wellness worlds. Guests can expect sustainable furnishings in the rooms and suites: furniture made from Swiss stone pine, floors made from larch and oak wood and carpets made from pure sheep's wool. Upholstery fabrics, towels and bed linen are made from pure cotton or the finest linen.
Switch off
In addition to the 500 m² Stanglwirt fitness garden equipped with state-of-the-art LifeFitness equipment, there is an indoor riding arena with a private Lipizzaner stud farm, a driving range including a private Golf Sport Academy, 14 km of Stanglwirt waters with a "catch & release" principle and a total of 13 indoor and outdoor tennis courts including the world-famous PBI - Peter Burwash International tennis school.
The Stanglwirt is the ideal starting point for mountain bike excursions. The modern indoor padel court in the Kitzbühel tennis hall offers the best conditions for an exclusive playing experience - rackets and balls are available to hire in the Tennisstüberl; all you need are suitable shoes and a love of the game. There are fantastic mountain bike routes around the Wilder Kaiser as well as in-house rental of professional, new mountain bikes and e-bikes.
In winter, the Bio-Wellnesshotel Stanglwirt offers its guests a private ski school as well as exclusive shuttle transfers to the nearby, award-winning ski areas - including the "Wilder Kaiser" ski area with 279 kilometers of slopes and 91 lifts.
Let go
The unique wellness worlds of the Stanglwirt organic wellness resort offer relaxation pleasure of a special kind - regardless of the weather and all year round. The pool and sauna area extends over an impressive 12,000 m² of indoor and outdoor space. The entrance to the Stanglwirt Spa and parts of the ceilings are covered with natural moss.
In the new area, guests can also expect the typical Stanglwirt architecture with materials made of natural stone and solid wood as well as the largest hotel-owned saltwater pool in Europe. The vital element of water plays a central role: all of the spacious water areas - over 1,500 m² - are fed by the hotel's own Kaiser spring and heated using its energy.
One highlight is the varied bathing and relaxation experience for all generations: Adults enjoy absolute peace and quiet in their own spacious area and relax by the crackling open fire with a view of the majestic mountains and the stud farm's extensive Lipizzaner paddocks. Professional sauna infusion ceremonies round off the offer.
Children, on the other hand, can have fun in the 1,000 m² children's water world with a 120-meter water slide. At the children's farm, a rustic stable with sheep, chickens and ponies, which little guests are allowed to pamper, provide for enthusiasm - as well as hay jumping, handicrafts in the children's carpentry workshop or playing in the new children's alp, a handmade adventure tree house made of old wood from the region. Trained children's teachers look after the little ones every day with a lovingly curated, nature-oriented program - so that mom and dad can relax carefree.
Enjoy
A stay at the Stanglwirt is also a culinary feast for the senses. Because a healthy mind lives in a healthy body. That's why the Stanglwirt organic wellness hotel pays attention to the highest quality when selecting food and spoils its guests with organic products from selected regional suppliers. Home-grown delicacies from the hotel's own organic farm are also served - balm for the palate and soul!
The culinary delights can be enjoyed in the various restaurants or in summer in the open air - on the sunny Kaiserwiese with panoramic views of the majestic Wilder Kaiser. A special trademark of the five-star resort is the legendary Kuhstall-Stube: a restaurant with a view of the cows and calves from the hotel's own organic farm - an extraordinary experience that is known far beyond Austria's borders.
"Leni's" - the new family restaurant
In October, "Leni's" opens as an à la carte restaurant exclusively for hotel guests. The guiding principle: a place where generations can enjoy themselves together. Guests can expect light, international cuisine at lunchtime and Mediterranean dishes in a family-style setting in the evening - to share and experience. High-quality products from the restaurant's own farm - such as milk, cheese and meat - form the culinary basis. An open kitchen with pizza oven, large family tables and a playful children's concept make "Leni's" a place of warm hospitality.
