May: Stanglwirt Organic and Wellness Resort
What was once a simple inn has evolved into an exclusive hotel complex of international caliber—always in harmony with its roots. “Organic” is a way of life here: as early as 1980, an organic hotel was established using regional resources. With its bioenergy power plant, the Stanglwirt generates sustainable electricity and heat from regional wood chips and additionally sequesters CO₂ through biochar. Many meat and dairy products come from the hotel’s own farm, and the mountain cheese from the on-site cheese dairy. The water from the Kaiser Spring is also a defining mark of quality.
The wellness world combines nature and relaxation at the highest level: over 1,500 m² of water areas in a pool and sauna landscape spanning approximately 12,000 m² are utilized efficiently. Natural materials such as stone, wood, and moss create a special atmosphere, while Europe’s largest hotel-owned saltwater pool is one of the highlights. Those seeking tranquility enjoy retreats with views of the mountains, while families enjoy the spacious children’s water world and nature-based experiences.
Those seeking activity will find an extraordinary variety: a fitness garden, an indoor riding arena with a private Lipizzaner stud farm, a driving range complete with a private Golf Sport Academy, 14 km of Stanglwirt fishing waters following the “catch and release” principle, as well as 12 tennis courts and 3 padel courts (indoor and outdoor), including the renowned PBI tennis school. Plus: fantastic mountain bike trails, in-house rental of professional mountain and e-bikes, and in winter, a private ski school with a practice area right on the hotel grounds, including exclusive shuttle transfers to the region’s best ski resorts.
Culinary highlights at the Stanglwirt include organic cuisine made with regional products and specialties from the hotel’s own farm—served in the restaurants or on the Kaiserwiese. The Kuhstall-Stube, with a view of cows and calves, is legendary. New additions include “Leni’s,” a family restaurant serving international and Mediterranean cuisine in a “family-style” setting, and the “Dreiklang” restaurant, which offers international cuisine.
A place that grounds and inspires: The Stanglwirt is more than just a stay—it’s a feeling of home, right in the heart of Tyrol.
