Hotel Almhof Schneider
1st place: A hideaway in the center of Lech - The legendary Hotel Almhof Schneider Lech has been pampering its guests with genuine hospitality, alpine flair and service at the highest level since 1929.
Refugium for the senses
The rooms and suites at the Almhof Schneider convey a luxurious, rustic atmosphere that is defined by the materials of the region and the simple, functional design language of Alpine architecture - created for people with a sense for subtle differences. Oiled walnut, limestone, untreated high mountain spruce or wool: the high-quality natural materials are processed with great attention to detail - by a handful of selected craftsmen who have been working at the traditional hotel for years. Because simple, clear designs, perfect craftsmanship and the use of authentic, high-quality products are just as modern today as they have always been.
Unlimited possibilities
As a welcome contrast to the ice and snow, the Almhof Spa, which was completely renovated in 2015, offers a steam bath, sauna, indoor pool, stylish relaxation room, fireplace salon, precisely controlled radiant heating in the walls and floors as well as elegant treatment rooms on a separate floor for pampering massages and multifaceted treatments. For those who can't or don't want to stop working, the exclusive "Allmeinde" is the ideal setting for meetings or private events in a breathtaking ambience. Gerold Schneider and his wife Katia have transformed an old barn into a modern institution where art and tradition meet. Avant-garde architecture enters into a symbiosis with Alpine building tradition; the result? Artists, theorists and authors are invited to fill these exceptional premises with great words. And the little connoisseurs also have a special place at the Almhof Schneider Lech, as many of today's guests have been coming to the hotel since they were children! Today, their children play together and become friends for life: Skiing together, tobogganing, ice skating or having fun in the playroom, the cinema or the spacious library - indoors and outdoors the young guests are professionally looked after.
Exquisite indulgence
Spoiling guests has a long tradition at the Almhof Schneider. Accordingly, the focus is on contemporary, refined, Alpine and Austrian cuisine that only relies on selected producers and brings together the best that the region has to offer. Although the elegant dining rooms "Wunderkammer (der Halluzinogene)" and the "Restaurant im Almhof Schneider", which combine traditional and modern elements, pursue different concepts and serve different needs, both insist on the charm of simplicity and the quality of the products. The ski hut "Schneggerei" and the legendary "Klösterle" also stand for particularly rustic flair and alpine magic. Jakob Zeller and Ethel Hoon took over the latter in December 2019. Both chefs started their careers in different parts of the world - Jakob, who comes from South Tyrol, has worked in kitchens in Barcelona, the south of France and Italy, while Ethel, born in the tropical island state of Singapore, has worked in her home country, Paris and Tokyo. Inspiring delicacies from their shared cuisine can be expected. And wine lovers can also draw from the full range. With 25,000 bottles, the traditional hotel is home to one of the best wine cellars in the country. And - of course - one of the best sommeliers: Josef Neulinger was crowned "Sommelier of the Year 2018" by Gault Millau.
