Hotel DIE Post at the Ortler
2nd place: New, unique, and incredibly cozy: After more than two years of planning and a total of 12 months of construction, the Hotel DIE POST opened its doors at Ortler.
Design & South Tyrolean Authenticity – Freshness in a Nutshell
The renovation has created a place where luxury meets simplicity and innovation meets tradition. The good has been preserved, and the existing has been improved. Clean architecture featuring natural materials, generous glass surfaces, warm wood textures, and regional natural stone create spaces that embody the South Tyrolean spirit. Since the end of December, the new POST has offered a total of 73 rooms and suites, including 20 new luxury suites. Private whirlpools or saunas on the balcony are the icing on the cake, offering absolute privacy and a magical view of South Tyrol’s highest mountain—the “King” Ortler.
Ortles SPA³ - Wellness. Garden. Natural Swimming Pond
In summer, the new Ortles Spa³ unfolds across 4,200 m² of space dedicated to tranquility, warmth, and sweeping views—featuring six saunas, stylish relaxation rooms, and a spacious indoor and outdoor pool. During the winter months, the spa area spans 2,000 m², including a heated outdoor pool.
The panoramic garden with its natural swimming pond is truly unique. Lounge chairs, positioned directly above the crystal-clear water, serve as little islands for daydreaming. While adults find relaxation in the adults-only area, children have plenty of space to have fun in the Family.SPA. Families can let loose together in the indoor pool and on the wide water slide. Delicious specialties and drinks are available in the cozy Spa.Bistro. For younger guests, there’s the supervised Kinder.Club; for older ones, the Gaming.Room—and for parents, some time to themselves in between. Treatments featuring fine essences from Dr. Joseph and Rhea Cosmetics help you reconnect with your own rhythm.
Pampering Board – a treat with a mountain-top view
Breakfast offers South Tyrolean delicacies for the perfect start to the morning; at noon, a light buffet awaits, and in the afternoon, sweet and savory treats are available for snacking. In the evening, food lovers celebrate the combination of down-to-earth origins and culinary finesse with a 5- to 7-course menu. Relax by the fireplace in winter, enjoy the sunset on the panoramic terrace in summer. Whether with tea and a book in the library or with a glass of whiskey at the bar—the main thing is good vibes only.
Let it snow, let’s go!
Sulden is considered one of South Tyrol’s most snow-reliable ski areas. With 44 km of slopes between 1,900 and 3,250 meters above sea level—featuring long runs and a majestic mountain backdrop—the region is a paradise for skiers, snowboarders, freeriders, and alternative sports enthusiasts. The winter season here even lasts until early May, and for families there are ski lessons and child-friendly slopes. A special place—even extreme mountaineer Reinhold Messner has discovered this village of 380 souls and operates one of his Messner Mountain Museums here. A small village with a rich history, special people, and now a brand-new wellness hotel!
