At DAS GERSTL Family Retreat, every day is an adventure and children's hearts beat faster when unforgettable moments are conjured up in and WITH nature.
Kayaking on the turquoise waters of Lake Reschen, relaxing in the Venosta Spa while the children splash around in the Aqua Fun Park or surpassing themselves on the climbing wall - at DAS GERSTL Family Retreat, memories are made that last. Maximum relaxation, exclusive comfort and the warm hospitality of the Gerstl hotelier family characterize the new five-star family hotel, which opened its doors in May 2025.
Situated directly on the lakeshore, the retreat combines sustainable luxury with an active family culture. The hosts Marion and Lukas Gerstl, themselves parents of two daughters and deeply rooted in the Venosta Valley, have incorporated their experience and love of the region into a holistic concept. Local craftsmen, local materials and the consistent "r30" philosophy - products and ingredients from within a radius of 30 kilometers - characterize the architecture, interior and cuisine.
The 66 spacious suites and studios in modern timber construction offer plenty of space to feel at home from 46 square meters and spectacular views of Lake Reschen with its famous church tower. Guests can relax in GERSTI's water world with indoor and outdoor pools, baby and teen pools and the Aqua Fun Park with a 76-meter-long slide. The Venosta Spa invites you to regenerate with its organic clay sauna, brine steam bath, panoramic relaxation room and regional natural cosmetics. A modern gym and a weekly fitness program complete the offer for guests aged 16 and over.
Children of all ages get their money's worth: free childcare for babies and toddlers, age-appropriate clubs for kids and teens, exciting excursions, a climbing and bouldering wall and unlimited water fun. At the same time, quiet retreats invite you to cuddle up, dream and relax as a family. The focus is on spending time together - skiing in the nearby Schöneben-Haider Alm family ski area, on the frozen lake in winter or hiking, cycling and water sports in summer. There are adults-only times in the infinity pool and an exclusive spa area with textile-free saunas and panoramic relaxation room for conscious time-outs for two.
The retreat also focuses on sustainability and regional cuisine. Head chef Petra Patscheider spoils guests with fresh, seasonal cuisine - from live cooking breakfasts to lunch and snacks to the evening gourmet market.
