Såndgøld Alpine Glamping

With Såndgøld Alpine Glamping, Sand in Taufers in the Tauferer Ahrntal has had an exceptional address for nature-oriented vacations with design standards since 2023.

In the middle of the South Tyrolean Alps, nestled between water, forest and mountains, a boutique resort has been created that reinterprets the idea of classic camping: minimalist, architecturally sophisticated and luxurious at the same time. Såndgøld stands for a form of travel that focuses on being close to nature - without sacrificing comfort, privacy and stylish design.
The concept combines Nordic clarity with an alpine landscape. Founder and architect Benedikt Wieser, a native of South Tyrol, who runs the resort together with his husband Adrian Vogel, is responsible for this. Clear lines, natural materials and deliberate restraint characterize the architecture. Wood, glass and stone blend harmoniously into the surroundings, while the chalets are deliberately positioned as independent retreats in the landscape. Some of them stand on stilts directly above a natural pond and offer impressive views of the surrounding mountains.

Beautifully private

The complex comprises eight self-sufficient chalets in individual designs as well as spacious pitches for caravans and motorhomes. The chalets - from two-storey variants with a whirlpool to so-called floats on the water - are designed for a year-round glamping experience. The offer is complemented by modern camping infrastructure with electricity, fresh water and waste water connections as well as separate lockable bathrooms. Såndgøld is aimed equally at design-conscious individual travelers and classic campers who value quality and peace and quiet.
The central meeting point of the resort is the Greenhouse: a light-flooded communal space with a fireplace lounge, bar, bistro and co-working areas. Here, the social element of glamping is interpreted in a contemporary way. Culinary delights follow the "farm to table" principle - with regional, seasonal ingredients, light Alpine dishes and creative aperitifs. In quieter times of the year, so-called "Mindful Weeks" take place, during which the Greenhouse is operated with a reduced self-service concept and the facility offers guests plenty of space to retreat and slow down.

Future-oriented

Sustainability is not an add-on, but an integral part of the overall concept. Resource-conserving construction methods, energy efficiency, waste avoidance and cooperation with regional producers characterize the operation. From spring 2026, the offer will be supplemented by a new sauna building: a panorama sauna directly in the natural pond will add a further, consciously decelerating dimension to the nature experience.
The location in the Tauferer Ahrntal valley opens up a wide range of possibilities at any time of year. Hiking and cycling trails start right on the doorstep, while in winter the Speikboden and Klausberg ski areas are within easy reach. The proximity to Antholz, the venue for the 2026 Winter Olympics, also underlines the attractiveness of the region. Well connected via Brunico/Bruneck and the airports of Bolzano/Bozen and Innsbruck, Såndgøld Alpine Glamping is positioned as a retreat for travelers who want to experience nature, design and tranquillity in harmony - consciously, reduced and far away from classic vacation routines.
