CASTEL MAURN
Modern design in a historic ambience: The restored and listed Castel Maurn offers guests eight very different hotel suites.
The manor house with its towers, oriels and gables was first mentioned in 990. In 2021, Walter Peintner carefully renovated the listed property and created a hybrid of residence and hotel - with eight suites of very different sizes and character. High-quality materials such as wood and natural stone, natural fabrics, soft carpets and loving details characterize the cosy living spaces. All of them bear the names of the artists and scholars who came to light when uncovering the beautiful frescoes.
Story mix
The Radetzky Suite, for example, is adorned with a parlor with original wooden panels, tables and lamps are design objects from Italian manufacturers. The fittings in the bathrooms shine against elegant fabric wallpaper, while ceramic tiles adorn the walk-in showers. State-of-the-art technology is hidden behind the walls. Underfloor heating warms the entire house.
Wellness in elegant form
The former utility rooms now serve as a modern spa. Here you will find a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, a relaxation room and a cold pool. Fluffy bath towels lie in a historic cupboard and spring water bubbles out of a stone trough. There is also a fitness room with natural light and fresh air. A highlight is the heated outdoor pool in the middle of the fairytale castle garden, which is open all year round.
Guests are pampered with a breakfast of select regional products, which is brought to their room door in the morning. Walter Peintner and his partner Sabine Sorio are happy to provide restaurant tips for those who do not wish to cook for themselves in the high-quality mini kitchen in their suite. On special occasions, a chef can also cook for everyone in the large communal kitchen, who can then dine individually or together at a long table in style.
