The Parkhotel Laurin is a highlight in the picturesque old town of Bolzano: stylish, in love with detail and legendary.
The Parkhotel Laurin was opened by the Staffler family from Bolzano in 1910 and was considered one of the most modern hotels in Europe at the time. The hotel quickly became very popular and has remained so to this day - the Parkhotel Laurin is still the first hotel on the square in Bolzano.
The tasteful furnishings of the 100 rooms play a major role in this reputation. Architect Boris Prodrecca has done a great job here with the designs for the chairs, beds, sofas, the carpet patterns for the bar and lounges and the pear wood paneling. The designer's designs were implemented in the hotel's own joinery. In the rooms and lounges, around 200 original works from the 20th century inspire guests.
In the historically landscaped Laurin Park, which surrounds the hotel with its approximately 4,000 square meters, there are also numerous works by well-known artists, including a bronze sculpture by the South Tyrolean artist Guido Muss, in addition to the pool and summer lounge.
The Laurin Bar, which is decorated with frescoes by Bruno Goldschmitt from 1911, is legendary. They tell of the deeds of the dwarf king Laurin. The bar is the heart of the Parkhotel. The people of Bolzano also love to come here, for example every Friday under the motto "All that Music ...!" to listen to jazz, blues or soul. The air-conditioned Smokers' Lounge, equipped with a sophisticated ventilation system, is located in the former men's lounge. The elegant ladies' and oval salon is ideal for small and large meetings. The kitchen is also impressive: The philosophy in the kitchen is simple - excellent produce skillfully and respectfully prepared to showcase the raw material. Everything is served in an original Art Nouveau salon, which is framed by trees from the artwork "Alberi in sequenza" by Marilù Eustachio. If you're feeling peckish, head to the Laurin Bistro. Every summer from May to September, the park restaurant hoists its sails (in the truest sense of the word) - for cozy evenings in the open air.
Another highlight of the hotel is the Glasshouse: a personal project of the host Franz Staffler. A historic glasshouse in the middle of the park, the perfect fusion of art and nature, where the gourmet restaurant ConTanima opened in December 2021. ConTanima's cuisine is inspired by the historic meeting of cultures, worlds and culinary delights that have shaped the history of Bolzano.
