Inspiration and recreation, South Tyrol and Southeast Asia run through the entire hotel, following the principles of yin and yang. Two intentions, inseparable from each other. A fusion of two siblings with different interests. Simon and Magdalena. A design and boutique hotel that reflects their dreams and visions.

A place with great attention to detail

At the SILENA, the surrounding nature is combined with a soothing design and plenty of space for the soul. Infinity patterns depicting stylized bent and cotton grasses of the Vals high moor, swamp plants, dragonflies and origami birds illustrate the harmonious interplay of Southeast Asia and South Tyrol. The focus on the essentials helps guests to arrive, take up space and feel at ease. The renowned architecture and design studio noa* from Bolzano and Berlin is responsible for the implementation.

Every encounter is unique

The Japanese Way of Tea is the traditional path to self-discovery and slowing down. At the SILENA, the tea path begins when you walk through the wooden entrance portal. Inspiration and recreation await the guest. It is reminiscent of traditional Asian architectural elements and exudes naturalness and a sense of security thanks to its dark wood. Everyday life is left behind.
Calm reigns in the bright entrance area, where the hectic pace of travel can be washed away by the stone fountain. The stone fireplace forms the center of the cozy lounge with delicate wooden slats, green plants, seating areas and impressions of the surrounding mountains. Winding paths, lined with cozy seating niches, lead past the SILENA prayer wheels. They eventually lead to the tea bar, where you can start your own path to self-discovery and slowing down with a cup of tea while sitting in the traditional cross-legged position.

Experience for the senses

Fine textures, soft colors, warm wood, bright natural stone and dimmed light create a feeling of lightness and deep relaxation in the SILENA. Southeast Asian rituals and offers such as yoga clear the mind. Those who love to move directly in nature can reflect on what is important in life during a breathing hike in the impressive Vals high moor.
Guests at the SILENA can also give free rein to their creativity in a specially created area or retreat to the 300-year-old farmhouse parlor, the Moar-Herz. Whether with origami techniques or coloring mandalas - here the soul can expand.

Holistic focus

All 48 studios and suites are characterized by the integration of form-giving, Far Eastern elements, their contemporary finish and the combination with South Tyrolean materials such as Swiss stone pine and smoked oak. Filigree drawings of Asian plants, delicate lamps and rice paper provide further Asian textures.
The interplay between inspiration and recreation is also continued in the living categories. The result is aesthetic retreats where you can take a deep breath. Places that radiate a sense of security and convey harmony. Everything is flowing and carefully thought out so that travelers also feel emotionally welcome. Highlights of the suites include a private sauna, a spacious balcony with a Zen garden and an open-air bathtub inspired by the traditional ofuro. The ideal place to practise breathing techniques, silence and inner peace is the private meditation area with tea set within easy reach.

Feel the power of calm

The highlight is the extensive soulful spa area with infinity pool, saunas, relaxation rooms and fireplaces at garden level and on the rooftop floor. The specially developed spa line
THE PURE SILENA, with local herbs and Asian fragrances such as lemongrass and green tea, allows the mind to wander into the distance.
The 40-degree Onsen infinity pool is located on the roof terrace. In the hot spring water of the Vals mountains - enriched with minerals from the volcanic rock of the Sciliar area, the Siusi basalt - you can enjoy the deeply wooded slopes of the Vals high moor almost weightlessly. While the body experiences warmth, revitalization and harmony, all the senses are stimulated: rippling water runs over the lava stone, fire crackles, the fresh mountain air cools the damp skin.
As in Southeast Asian culture, the body is ritually cleansed before entering the onsen. In the light-flooded onsen lounge, traditional wooden buckets with water and soap are ready and waiting. After the bath, loungers and the large panoramic windows of the relaxation rooms invite you to reflect and become aware of deepest contentment: a feeling of calming arrival.

CONNECTING SOULFOOD

Regional nature is also combined with Southeast Asian influences to create soul food. The basis is formed by products from South Tyrol and the hotel's own cultivation: sun-drenched and reflecting the power of the mountains. Whether it's carpaccio of winter kohlrabi with wasabi, celery and blue potatoes, a Jerusalem artichoke soup with sweet potato chips or brown trout with Esprit Thai and pak choi. The aim is to carefully bring out the natural taste of these fresh, good ingredients. The kitchen team draws inspiration and flavors from one of the oldest world cultures: Southeast Asia.

Earthing and release - revitalization or invigoration

At the Southeast Asian tea bar, exciting contrasts of light stone and dark wood, distance and vastness, coziness and straightforwardness are expressed. It is the place in the SILENA where teas from Asia meet herbal infusions from South Tyrol. Where every single hand-picked teapot can tell its own story. Tea and the tea rituals that go with it are an integral part of the "welcome" at the SILENA.
