Every Sunday, a James Bond film is shown in the tearoom. "The Spy Who Loved Me" is on the program. Why? Because some scenes from the 1977 film were actually shot around what is now the MIRAMONTI Boutique Hotel. It is precisely these charming details that make this member of the "Small Luxury Hotels of the World" so endearing. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is also the place for you - high above Merano. In the vicinity of the Sulfner Haflinger stud farm, the romantic church of St. Kathrein and on the edge of a 30-hectare forest - all at 1,230 meters above sea level.
The married couple Carmen Kruselburger Alber and Klaus Alber have fulfilled a dream here in Hafling: An alpine hideaway that immediately enchants. One can only say - mission accomplished. The hotel nestles on a steep slope in the forest and offers sensational views from the balconies of the suites. You literally float in the rooms, but especially in the infinity pool. The furnishings are very cool and purist, with floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows that allow light, air and nature into the interior.
The cooking here is of the highest standard. That deserves awards. Massimo Geromel's exceptional creations have earned the Panorama Restaurant two toques in the Gault&Millau guide. In the MIRAMONTI Klassik you can have three courses suggested, and if you like, you can choose your own menu from the menu with dishes from South Tyrol and Italy. In the MIRAMONTI Stube, South Tyrolean dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen and all sorts of down-to-earth dishes are on offer, and anything seems possible from the terrace. Above all, nothing really stands in the way of a nice evening with a good drink here.
And once again you're floating here: When guests do their laps in the saltwater infinity pool - 16 meters long and 8 meters wide, the pool leads to the impressive landscape as if through a warm cave in all four seasons - and then indulge in another world in the relaxation house with an open fireplace and in the library. And then there is also the new onsen pool from the Japanese bathing culture, outdoor whirlpool with up to 38 degrees, porphyry bio sauna, Finnish forest sauna, steam bath, relaxation house with panoramic view, sun terrace with Merano view, activity house in the forest with gym and yoga studio, spa department with porphyry and verbena treatment. A guided forest therapy/forest bathing session is also offered or you can take the initiative and immerse yourself in the surrounding forest.
