Hotel Schgaguler

The boutique hotel Schgaguler knows how to impress with its very special architecture in Castelrotto in the Sciliar region of South Tyrol.

The Milanese architect Peter Pichler (a student of Zaha Hadid and Rem Koolhaas), in collaboration with designer Martin Schgaguler, implemented the avant-garde architecture for this region with the conversion of the hotel in 2018. The striking gabled buildings are reminiscent of the famous Three Peaks mountain range in South Tyrol. The almost white façade of the hotel blends in tastefully with the surrounding row of houses. The entire ambience radiates a cool, but nevertheless inviting atmosphere. Large panoramic windows are used to bring the breathtaking mountain scenery inside. The rooms and suites are also decorated in cream, some of the furniture is made of chestnut wood and refined details add to the ambience. Incidentally, the hotel won the "Hotel Property of the Year" award in 2019.

Enjoyment zone

In the restaurant, the kitchen serves Alpine-Mediterranean dishes that combine Italian specialties with regional dishes. Restaurant manager Sandra Schgaguler relies on close cooperation with local producers. She is also the one who provides guests with excellent advice on wine selection.
Two pools provide moments of wellbeing, while an outdoor whirlpool gives you a chance to breathe. Facials, massages, peelings and body wraps complete the offer.

At one with nature

Those who leave the Hotel Schgaguler despite all these possibilities can take advantage of the entire activity program that Gottfried Schgaguler has carefully created. In summer, he takes guests on a sunrise tour on the Seiser Alm or leads them over the Rosszahnscharte up to the Tierser Alpl, a vantage point between the rocks of the Schlern massif. In the winter months, you can look forward to extensive tours through the snow. The ski slopes of the Seiser Alm are just a few minutes' drive from the Schgagul hotel. A ski bus takes guests from the hotel to the gondola in just five minutes. And in the fall, Törggelen is a must.
