Beau-Rivage Genève
Geneva's oldest hotel skillfully manages the balancing act between technical sophistication and anecdotes steeped in history.
A house for the history books
The Hôtel Beau Rivage Genève is a veritable treasure trove for amateur historians - there seems to be an interesting anecdote hidden around every corner, adding to the hotel's proud heritage. Since its foundation over 150 years ago, the luxury hotel has been defined by an eventful, sometimes tragic, but always exciting history. Empress Sissi of Austria was a regular guest of the hotel and fell victim to an assassination attempt on its doorstep in 1898. In 1918, the founding charter of the Czechoslovak Republic was signed in the Masaryk Salon. Since 1987, Sotheby's has occasionally held auctions in the house. Phil Collins celebrated his wedding here and the Dalai Lama has also been a guest.
Back to the present
And today? Today, the Hôtel Beau Rivage Genève remains one of Geneva's most exclusive addresses and the city's longest-serving hotel. Today, the hotel skillfully manages the balancing act between antique décor, technical sophistication and design-oriented interiors. Today, a regiment of attentive concierges takes care of every last detail and will also accompany you on a wine tour of Geneva on request. Today, as then, the historic grand hotel is 'the place to be'.
Switzerland and chocolate
Wine can also be enjoyed at the Hôtel Beau Rivage Genève: Exquisite treasures await the gourmet palate in the well-stocked wine cellar of the Chat-Botté restaurant. Chef Dominique Gauthier serves French cuisine that has already been awarded Michelin and Gault&Millau - one star and 18 points speak for themselves - on the terrace in fine weather. The absolute highlight is the Chef's Table - here up to 8 guests can watch the busy kitchen brigade preparing the delicacies. At Patara, you will be spoiled with fine Thai cuisine, which offers a harmonious combination of local and Far Eastern flavors. If you still haven't had enough of the delicacies, you should definitely visit the Chocolate Bar, where chocolate fountains and the finest pastries make the heart of every sweet tooth beat faster. And since July 2020, the new Albertine's Lounge has been spoiling guests with Asian-Mediterranean cuisine.
