Grandhotel Giessbach
The charitable foundation "Giessbach dem Schweizer Volk" was set up by Franz Weber in 1983 to save the historically valuable grand hotel from the Belle Epoque, which is worthy of protection, from demolition and to preserve this beautiful piece of home overlooking Lake Brienz as a common heritage for the Swiss people.

The Giessbach Foundation maintains the entire complex and the surrounding forests with great commitment in order to preserve this lifeline for future generations. Many farmers and local producers contribute to the well-being of our guests with their products. This deep rootedness carries the legacy of Franz Weber and embodies one of the most subtle forms of environmental protection. The herbs from the hotel's own garden, the vegetables whenever possible from the hotel's own fields or from the historic garden sheds and even the honey is produced by the Giessbach bees.

Away from conventional luxury and the hustle and bustle of everyday life and towards unspoiled nature and soothing tranquillity. After an invigorating walk in the park, read your favorite book by the fire and enjoy a hot cup of tea or a glass of wine. In the evening, our restaurant team will spoil you in the historic rooms with loving creations and lots of regional cuisine from the famous Giessbach kitchen. From November to March, the Grandhotel Giessbach opens its doors to individual guests and various events from Wednesday to Sunday.
