The century-old walls of the Park Hotel Vitznau enclose a world of tranquillity, pleasure and culture. "Preserving the past, shaping the future" is the philosophy. The interior repeatedly refers to the character and rich history of the hotel. The themed worlds of Wine & Dine, Art & Culture, Health & Wealth, on which the entire interior is based, reflect both the hotel's focus and the extensive field of activity of its Austrian owner family: each floor is designed as a gallery and offers an insight into scientifically based aspects or projects of the Pühringer Group, which also owns the sister hotel Palais Coburg in Vienna.
From plush to baroque to minimalist: at the Park Hotel Vitznau, every suite is unique, equipped with the most innovative technology and maximum comfort. No floor plan and no furnishing concept can be found twice. Each of the 47 stylish residences, suites and junior suites highlights an aspect or a personality from one of the three themed worlds. All materials and colors - from the high-quality natural stone in the bathroom to the fine bed linen - have been carefully selected to match the theme;
For example, the Bordeaux suite, decorated in elegant shades of red, is dedicated to French viticulture (Wine). The Theater-in-der-Josefstadt suite refers to the cultural sponsorship of the owner group (Culture). Those staying in the Newton Suite, where Sir Isaac Newton gazes out from the paintings on the walls, will learn more about his tragic stock market losses (Finance). The medical suites are equipped for medical needs and belong to the cereneo Clinic for Neurology and Rehabilitation, which is a service partner in the building (Health). The suites that are not currently occupied are closed off with a special glass door so that the furnishings remain visible. As in a gallery, a display case with accompanying text refers to the respective story that is staged with the interior.
With the two Michelin-starred restaurants focus ATELIER and PRISMA and the grill restaurant Seeterrasse, the Park Hotel Vitznau is right at the top of the Swiss gastronomic map. Christian Nickel is the man pulling the strings in the background: As Executive Chef, he has helped shape the hotel's culinary offering since 2012 and ensures that the kitchen runs smoothly. It is important to him that the 30 or so employees and apprentices are given the opportunity to implement new ideas and develop personally. "I want my people to be able to grow with their tasks." The crew also includes the two renowned top chefs Patrick Mahler and Philipp Heid.
32,000 bottles and 4000 items: The Park Hotel Vitznau's wine cellar is one of the most exclusive in the world. In the spirit of the philosophy "Preserving the past - shaping the future", four centuries of wine history come together here. Head of Wine and Sommelier of the Year 2021 (Bilanz) Sven Uzat ensures order in the six storage rooms, which are kept at a temperature of 14 degrees Celsius and a humidity of 70 percent: "With such an abundance, it is always important to pay attention to which drop is currently at its best maturity".
Guests will find heavenly peace and privacy in the 1500 m2 spa. In the entrance area, a floor-to-ceiling seawater aquarium with up to 1000 fish of all colors and sizes invites you to immerse yourself in the water world. The wellness area is designed with clear lines and shapes and plays with daylight, creating a harmonious and sensual ambience. The dominant materials of glass, marble and Corian create an exciting black and white contrast. A wide, rounded staircase leads down from the pool area to the saunas, ice grotto, tepidarium, Kneipp pool, fitness room, relaxation area and sunbathing lawn;
The spa area is separated from the rest of the park by a stream. A highlight is the heated outdoor infinity pool, which appears to merge with the horizon and the lake and is one of the most beautiful in Switzerland. If you enjoy the distant view over the Alps from the warm bubbling whirlpool, you will forget the time in no time.
