The hotel's exclusive pole position is not the only evidence of this. Brilliance runs like a red thread through the overall concept of the Alex. The refreshing design in a subtle Art Deco style is largely responsible for this. The refined planning by the Swiss architect duo Marazzi+Paul gives the hotel a straightforward urban touch, while the London-based Brady Williams Studio and the Portuguese design team Ozo Living provide that certain something when it comes to the interior.
With its 43 studios and penthouses, this member of the Responsible Hotels of Switzerland offers a manageable number of comfortable rooms that focus on clean lines and understated, but all the more stylish luxury. By dispensing with ostentatious overload, the view is opened up to the real beauties in and around the hotel: The elegant furnishings look as if they were tailor-made for the backdrop of the sky-blue lake, which becomes an integral part of the rooms thanks to huge glass fronts. An overall picture to be proud of!

The diverse surroundings are not only skilfully incorporated in terms of aesthetics, but also with regard to its claim to sustainability. Designed according to the guidelines of the Swiss Minergie label, lake water, for example, is used both for cooling and as the basis for heating the hotel. Bin liners are compostable, straws are biodegradable, care products are organic and bottles are made of glass.
