Waldhaus Sils
2nd place: Pure Swissness - Even after more than 110 years, the Swiss insider tip is still very popular with the locals: almost half of the guests are Swiss!
You're in the right place here
It doesn't always have to be historic: Those who prefer a modern room without playful accessories will find what they are looking for at the Waldhaus, as will nostalgics and lovers of the classics. The hotel not only caters to a wide variety of tastes, but also rents out unique rooms in every direction. There are no backsides at the Hotel Waldhaus, only views - so it's worth coming back and swapping the view of Lake Silvaplana for the view of Lake Sils.
Pure relaxation
It is a cathedral of deceleration in which the boundaries between inside and outside are blurred: Light falls through imposing shafts into large rooms whose walls are adorned with crystalline glass mosaics. It is naturalistic futurism and yet gives the impression that it has always been there. The spa at the Hotel Waldhaus offers hotel guests 1,500 square meters of space for relaxation and well-being. In addition to a spacious Finnish sauna, a bio sauna and a cooling area with plunge pool, a fresh air area and two steam baths, there is also a Swiss stone pine bath and a larch bath - each of the two warm water pools is the size of an entire room! In addition to a fitness area and the spacious pool for sports swimmers (8x20 meters), there are seven treatment rooms and an open-air whirlpool. The spa was designed by Basel architects Miller & Maranta, who were also responsible for the spectacular new builds and renovations of the bar, kitchen and Smokers Lounge at the Hotel Waldhaus.
Enjoyment places
There are plenty of places to retreat to at the Hotel Waldhaus. There are also places for a culinary flight of fancy: dinner in the beautiful dining room, a dignified dinner in the Arvenstube, a bite to eat in the hall or lunch on the terrace in the forest, as well as a seasonal creative dish in the GIGERs restaurant - the possibilities are as varied as the chef's ingenuity is great.
