The magnificent complex was once the home of a Russian aristocratic family and was converted into a hotel in 1885. The 72 rooms including 30 suites and junior suites and 32 bedroom suites of the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola have been individually designed, offer modern comfort at the highest level and are south-facing - a fantastic view of the lake and the park from the balcony or terrace is guaranteed. The rooms move in (colonial) style between huge tapestries and Indian chests of drawers, between tropical flora in the garden and elements of African fauna in the suites. A success!

Freshly caught specialties from the lake and an incomparable view of the lake are served as a feast for the eyes. The new restaurant La Rucola offers light and tasty meals in a pleasant and informal atmosphere under the motto "Fresh & Easy Dining". Alessandro Boleso is Executive Chef of all three restaurants - Galerie Arté al Lago, La Rucola and Le Relais - and is therefore responsible for the entire culinary concept.
