Guarda Val Maiensäss-Hotel
Alpine tradition meets innovation at the Guarda Val Maiensäss Hotel. Here you can sleep under a radiant starry sky in picture-book style - in more ways than one!
Future-oriented
In order to preserve this special atmosphere for the future, the entire Maiensäss village underwent a careful overall renovation. The Guarda Val invested 2.5 million Swiss francs to give all 50 rooms a new lease of life. The result: rooms that breathe lightness and reflect the core idea of the Limitless concept - look, be amazed, be surprised. The Zurich architectural firm GREGO, led by Jasmin Grego and Stephanie Kühnle, is responsible for the further development of the design, having already shaped the reorientation of the hotel in 2007. Building on natural materials and tactile warmth, the architects have now introduced a finely nuanced color concept that gives each house its own identity - inspired by its location, history and charisma.
A play of colors and light
Like impressionists with a brush, GREGO works with light and color: the blue of the sky, the gold of the sun - sometimes soft, sometimes strong, always changing with the day. Furniture in rich, monochrome tones picks up on the atmosphere, while selected textures and structures lend depth to the rooms. The reference to nature remains tangible, but the new concept goes far beyond stone and wood. It is a sensual experience that invites discovery - Limitless.
Place of pleasure
The culinary signature of the Maiensässhotel Guarda Val is just as unmistakable as its architecture. Within centuries-old walls, mountain cuisine is reinterpreted here - authentic, refined and always deeply rooted in the Graubünden region. In the Guarda Val restaurant, alpine down-to-earthness meets creative sophistication. The chef and his team rely on what the surrounding nature has to offer: wild herbs from the meadows, cheese from local alpine farms, meat and fish from sustainable sources. Dishes that combine tradition and innovation are created with precision craftsmanship and flair - from homemade barley soup to perfectly composed tasting menus.
The gourmet restaurant "Guarda Val", which has been awarded 16 Gault&Millau points by chef Paul Berberich, is the culinary heart of the hotel. Local dishes and cheese specialties can be enjoyed in the traditional Crap Naros and delicacies from sophisticated outdoor cuisine in the Fö restaurant. Enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee in front of the fireplace, in the panorama room, in the Staunraum or outside on the terrace with the most beautiful view of the valley, or round off the evening with a cocktail.
A hamlet full of warmth and character
Whether in the log cabin sauna with a view of the mountains, in the whey bath in the wooden tub or taking a nap in the hay - the Guarda Val gives you moments that have a profound effect. It is a place where time seems to stand still while you feel the power of the mountains in their most pristine form.
