Hotel Maistra 160
The new place of longing in the Alps. After almost seven years of project and construction time, the hotelier and entrepreneur couple Bettina Plattner-Gerber and Richard Plattner have fulfilled a long-cherished dream with the Maistra 160. For the 35-million-euro project, the Plattners brought the renowned Graubünden architect and ETH professor emeritus Gion A. Caminada on board, who is known for his careful approach to buildings in the village center and architecture in the Alps.
In the heart of Pontresina, the Maistra 160 has become a meeting place for a new generation of guests. Sensible architecture meets high alpine lifestyle and Engadine natural landscape. 36 double rooms and 11 lodges with one to three bedrooms offer the opportunity to relax undisturbed. The individually designed floral ceiling motifs by textile designers Martin Leuthold and Bernhard Duss give each room its own character. The elements of heat, cold, water, fire, stone, air and earth are at the heart of the spa... There are also yoga, fitness and treatment rooms. The unique infrastructure on two floors with a cloister open to the sky houses an atrium with an open fire, a warm water pool, a bio sauna, a Finnish sauna, a basalt steam bath and a relaxation room with a sun deck.
Surprising taste experiences
In the restaurant, head chef Priscilla Cavagliotti and her team combine regional products from the Alpine region with oriental flavors and current food trends. Beloved and familiar dishes meet surprisingly new ones
