A design delicacy from the pen of artist Heinz Julen: The Backstage Hotel Vernissage combines culture, wellness and sport under one roof.
The modern 4-star work of art is a real eye-catcher among the traditional hotels in Zermatt - every piece of furniture in the boutique hotel run by Evelyne Julen was handmade in her husband's studio. Alongside chrome and wood, glass is the defining trademark of this design jewel - whether in the form of generous window fronts or extravagant sculptures.
In addition to seven double rooms and six deluxe double rooms, the Backstage Hotel Vernissage offers six two-storey, 45 m² Cube Lofts with a room height of 3.70 m - the glass fronts guarantee a fantastic 360° panoramic view. All Cube Lofts have a cozy living area with a sofa corner, a workstation, an exclusive chrome steel bathtub and a large balcony - truly a work of art to live in! You will find even more grandeur in the Backstage Luxury Loft and the Backstage Luxury Chalet in an old Valais house: both are just ten minutes away from the main house and make living dreams come true - a home cinema and a whirlpool that can be extended over the roof are just two of the breathtaking highlights here. High above Zermatt, the Mountain Cottage has also been created as the perfect place to really switch off. After all, where better to relax than in the midst of picturesque, untouched nature? Brand new: the 80 m2 penthouse suite with glass sloping ceilings and several serviced apartments.
The heart of the gourmet restaurant After Seven is the open show kitchen - a real eye-catcher with an experience factor. Here you can watch chef Florian Neubauer and his team preparing your menu. The award-winning cuisine (1 Michelin star, 17 Gault&Millau points) combines down-to-earthness with cosmopolitan sophistication - sometimes exotic, always market-fresh and seasonal.
In the afternoon, the fine dining restaurant is transformed into the cozy Backstage Café - a relaxed retreat for our hotel guests. Homemade cakes and tarts await you here, accompanied by high-quality coffee, fine teas and hot chocolate. You can also enjoy the breathtaking view of the Zermatt mountains - a place to pause and enjoy.
Another highlight is the Diner's Club in the Vernissage : here, culinary delights, culture and music merge into a special experience. While live music plays in the background, our guests enjoy selected menus - occasionally in combination with film screenings or exhibitions in the adjoining Art Gallery. An enjoyable evening that appeals to all the senses.
The spa is also brand new with a very special experience: themed wellness on the "creation story". Hotel guests can use the spa area free of charge. Conclusion: "A true place to feel good - you won't want to leave."
