Riffelalp Resort 2222m
Top experiences at the Grand Hotel: with every meter of altitude, guests leave more of their stress behind. At the top, the sun is shining, the Matterhorn is glowing and relaxation and seclusion await high above everyday life.
Dreamlike tranquillity
Almost all of the 65 double rooms and 5 suites have a terrace and a fantastic view of the Matterhorn, and there are also two apartments. Light colors, fine wood and fine fabrics ensure an all-round feeling of well-being that lasts a long time. The Matterhorn suites are undoubtedly a special highlight among the guest retreats: here you can reside in stately style on 103 square meters - of course always with a view of the breathtaking mountain world and with all the amenities that make for a perfect dream vacation. Looking for peace and relaxation? The 'Spa 2222m' at the Riffelalp Resort 2222m has an indoor pool, stone sweat bath, Chriiter grotto, various saunas and a wonderful sun terrace. The absolute highlight is, of course, a relaxing dip in Europe's highest outdoor pool at 35 degrees with breathtaking and direct panoramic views of the Matterhorn. The wellness center's extensive range of services is rounded off by fitness and massages.
Original nature
Sports enthusiasts in the region not only have a 360 km network of pistes for deep-snow skiing at their disposal. The qualified ski instructor and mountain guide from the Riffelalp Resort 2222m runs guided day tours three days a week in summer, ranging from easy hikes to scaling a four-thousand-metre peak. In winter, snowshoeing, ski excursions, glacier descents and heli-skiing are on the program four days a week. You can play curling in Zermatt, take helicopter tours and experience heli-skiing. You can also experience Zermatt's winter wonderland up close on snowshoe hikes, tours or glacier descents. In summer, the choice of sports activities is no less varied. Excursions into the picturesque countryside with a mountain guide, a game of tennis or mountain biking are just as much on the program as summer skiing, hiking, mountaineering, glacier tours or paragliding - and you can even play golf in Randa, five kilometers from Zermatt.
Decent luxury
The gourmet restaurants of the Riffelalp Resort 2222m under the pen of top chef Luigi Lafranco provide culinary highlights. The elegant 'Ristorante Al Bosco' with its cozy sun terrace is available for lunch. In the evening, the 'Alexandre' restaurant offers 5-star indulgence, while the 'Walliserkeller' restaurant - only open in the winter months - serves regional delicacies from the open fire or rustic specialties such as cheese fondue, raclette and grilled dishes. Insider tip: take advantage of the Wine & Dine offer and try out the partner establishments in Zermatt.
