Vitalhotel Die Mittelburg

A fixed star in the vacation sky: if you check into the Vitalhotel Die Mittelburg, you will be spending your vacation in Bavaria's smallest four-star superior hotel. More precisely, between meadows and pastures in the wonderfully idyllic Allgäu.

What began in 1950 with the purchase of a café pension with six beds is today, after numerous extensions and additions, still the smallest in its category despite 27 rooms. A family business from the very beginning, the Vitalhotel Die Mittelburg is now run by the third generation of the Mayr family. Sustainable management is particularly important to the family so that the environment remains as wonderful as it is. That is why the Mittelburg has electric charging stations for electric cars, straws made exclusively from glass, and 100 percent of the electricity is sourced from renewable energy sources, 85 percent of which is even self-generated.

Looking up at the Zugspitze while swimming

The Vitalhotel is beautifully situated in the middle of the Allgäu Alpine foothills with views of the surrounding meadows and mountains of the Allgäu. Even in the wellness area, the name says it all: Alpen-SPA Zugspitzblick. At a cozy 430 m², guests are offered a wellness world that is usually designed for much larger hotels: work out in the panoramic fitness room, relax in the quiet area with a fireplace room, take in the beautiful surroundings from the relaxation bathing world. Small but mighty, the Mittelburg has a lot in its repertoire: the Kelo log cabin sauna, aroma steam sauna, ice grotto, a therapeutic colored light thermium and a 12 x six meter indoor pool with a view of the Zugspitze.

The meadows in your own home

Guests can take the blooming meadows around the Mittelburg home with them in the form of delicacies such as dandelion flower syrup, pesto or schnapps in the hotel's own "Lädele". This way, the vacation can last a little longer.
