The Gründerzeit villas are strung together like pearls on a necklace - so radiantly white and magnificently decorated. They once served as summer vacation residences for Berlin's high society here on the Baltic island of Rügen. Since the mid-1990s, they have been making a comeback as individually managed guesthouses and boutique hotels. Some of these architectural gems from times long past form a unique ensemble along Wilhelmstrasse in Sellin: the ROEWERS Privathotel.
Its 52 rooms and suites are spread across the villas Rugia, Vineta, Marina and Sella - each with a sonorous name, each with a distinctive character: Villa Rugia, for example, is also home to the hotel restaurants Ambiance and Toujours, where you can enjoy upscale gourmet menus or nice and easy island cuisine, depending on your choice. The well-stocked Jules Bar with its passionate cocktail culture and around 80 types of gin from all over the world rounds off the gastronomic concept. In summer, you can meet on the large sun terrace, from where you can watch the hustle and bustle on Sellin's boulevard, while in winter the cozy fireplace lounge beckons. Things are quieter at Villa Vineta. In addition to 20 rooms, it also houses the hotel library. The highlight of Villa Sella, on the other hand, is the new outdoor pool with sauna on the roof in addition to the bathing area on the first floor. From up here, the view falls directly onto the old giant trees in the hotel park.
