Bodenmaiser Hof Hotel
Over 100 years of hotel history is far from enough. Is the Bodenmaiser Hof too old to reinvent itself? Not a chance! The hotel, now in its fourth generation under the management of Sandra Geiger-Pauli, is undergoing a major renovation and will be closed until June 30, 2026.
“It’s simply a love story—the Bodenmaiser Hof and me,” gushes owner Sandra Geiger-Pauli. The hotel traces its origins to 1923, when it was founded by her great-grandparents as a small lemonade and malt beer brewery.
“I feel a duty to the previous generations to keep going,” says the mother of three. “It makes me proud to have this tradition. Every change hurts at first.” That’s why it was important to her that the local connection be preserved and, for example, that materials suited to the region be used. “The story behind it has to be right and fit with who we are,” explains Sandra Geiger-Pauli.
Everything is scheduled to be completed by summer 2026
Until then, guests can continue to enjoy the 3,500-square-meter wellness area with five pools and eight saunas. Vacationers can also take advantage of free guided hiking and biking tours through the Bavarian Forest National Park, which is right on the doorstep—for example, Nordic walking on the Silberberg or a hike up the Großer Arber. Those who want to treat their tired muscles afterward can indulge in one of many treatments, such as the “Heavy Leg Massage.”
