Scandic Munich Macherei
The Scandic München Macherei is located in the heart of the up-and-coming Macherei district in the east of Munich - a hotel that combines Scandinavian design aesthetics with a strong focus on sustainability.
Scandinavian flair
The hotel has 234 rooms, including ten with kitchenettes, for long-term guests and 24 barrier-free units. The room sizes vary between 17 and 30 square meters and are furnished with real wood floors, selected art and sustainable bed linen. Some rooms on the upper floors even offer a view of the Alps in good weather.
The hotel's own Zieglerei restaurant with show kitchen including wood-fired oven and small terrace is a popular meeting point for guests and locals alike. Fresh, seasonal cuisine with a Scandinavian twist is served here. The breakfast is impressive with at least 60 percent organic ingredients, many regional products and fair trade organic coffee. For lunch, there is a varied business lunch on weekdays, while creative burgers, delicious starters such as smørrebrød with a variety of toppings and sweet desserts are on the menu in the evening.
Sustainability as a lived philosophy
Scandic has consistently pursued sustainable goals since 1993. At Scandic München Macherei, electricity is generated from 100% renewable energy, organic waste is recycled in a food waste facility and reusable packaging is used for lunch pick-up. A collaboration with the "Too Good To Go" app makes everyone a food saver. The hotel also has good public transport connections and charging stations for electric vehicles.
