Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich
80539 Munich, Maximilianstr. 17: Only a few hotels in Germany have such an illustrious address as the Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich.
Welcome to the Jahreszeiten Lobby
Even if times have long since changed and "1,000 flickering light bulbs in the evening" no longer cause a crowd in front of any hotel in the world - today's Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski Munich has lost none of its glamor, glitz and glamour. In addition, there is a nonchalance and homeliness that can only be found in this form in Bavaria and which has led to the lobby of the hotel being referred to as the "living room of the people of Munich".
Best-off from the kitchen
If you want to see for yourself, it's best to drop by in the afternoon when the in-house tea sommelier celebrates afternoon tea and society ladies, ordinary Munich residents and travelers from all over the world gather around the small tables under the large glass dome. The Schwarzreiter Restaurant is no less enjoyable, where star dishes reveal a love of "Young Bavarian Cuisine". Innovative cuisine from the kitchen team led by Hannes Reckziegel, who has been awarded a Michelin star. Incidentally, the hotel restaurant owes its name to a deep char - the favorite dish of the still omnipresent fairytale king Ludwig II. Restaurant and day bar underwent a complete renovation in 2019 and shine in a refined ambience. Highlights include wine displays in the entrance area made of elaborately crafted mosaic in a river pebble look based on the stone grotto technique of the Munich Residence or a ceiling art installation with hand-painted plates from the Nymphenburg porcelain manufactory in the breakfast room. The Jahreszeiten Bar presents itself as a typical American bar where you can enjoy a cocktail.
Oasis of retreat
And when you've had enough looking around, feasting and shopping in the upmarket boutiques on Maximilianstrasse, you can retreat to your room or suite. The noblest is, of course, the "Ludwig Suite" with the Royal Wing, furnished with opulent ceiling paintings, soft calfskin floors and the finest antiques and designer furniture. Even if it no longer passes as a "sensation" today, Bavaria's favorite "Kini" would certainly have liked it. The Ludwig Suite is still one of the three presidential suites. Perhaps he would have left something for the beautiful view from the spa area. Guests can enjoy a view over the city from the spacious pool and the treatment rooms. However, the new highlight is the "Maximilian Suite".
