Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Hotel Dresden

Following an extensive renovation, the Hotel Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden has reopened, bringing contemporary royal comfort to Dresden’s Baroque city center.

Built in the 18th century by Elector Augustus the Strong for his mistress, Countess Constantia von Cosel, destroyed during World War II, and rebuilt in 1995—today, the Taschenbergpalais Kempinski in Dresden’s Old Town combines historic grandeur with contemporary elegance. The five-star hotel is located just a few minutes from the Dresden Zwinger and the Baroque Frauenkirche, making it the ideal starting point for exploring this cultural city on the Elbe. Since 2024, history has been rewritten: following an extensive one-year renovation, this elegant hotel is opening a new chapter. Designer Markus Hilzinger drew inspiration from other Dresden landmarks for the ambiance of the 180 exquisite rooms and 31 luxurious suites, designing the entire hotel using high-quality, allergy-friendly, and sustainable materials. The suites dedicated to Countess Cosel, the mistress of King August, are particularly striking. The light-filled lobby, with its eye-catching textile wallpaper, is also charming.

Royal Dining

The restaurant Das Palais welcomes guests with pure flavors and authentic craftsmanship. The newly created “Private Dining Room” is ideal for private events. At the “Kastenmeiers” restaurant, gourmet chef Gerd Kastenmeier treats his guests to refined fish dishes. The wine and champagne bar offers first-class wines and rare vintages served via the Coravin system.

Moments of Relaxation

Those who need a short break after a sightseeing tour through the “Florence” on the Elbe should head to the 5th floor of the Taschenbergpalais Kempinski Dresden and take a dip in the 55-square-meter pool. One of the new design elements is a blue-tiled mirror featuring the Taschenbergpalais logo at the bottom of the pool. Light and elegant lounge furniture on both sides of the pool invites guests to relax. Spacious, bright, and luxurious changing rooms with lockers, as well as bathrobes and slippers, are available to guests. Refreshing drinks are served at the wellness bar.
