Gross Schwansee Estate
3rd Place: Set directly on the pristine Baltic Sea beach in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, just a stone’s throw from Lübeck, Schlossgut Gross Schwansee has achieved a significant milestone: the historic resort has been awarded its fifth star. This official accolade now places the property among the premier addresses in the German hospitality industry—a distinction that signifies not only first-class comfort but, above all, authentic hospitality, a stylish ambience and exemplary service.
Elegant coziness
. In total, the resort features 63 rooms and suites. Ten individually designed rooms are located in the historic castle, while another 53 modern rooms and suites are situated in the light-filled park building. The suites have recently been comprehensively refurbished: warm colour palettes, high-quality furnishings, fresh fabrics and generous bathtubs now create a stylish, comfortable ambience. Sustainability also plays a vital role. Certified organic linens, the hotel’s own bee colony producing its own honey and an expanded herb garden underscore the property’s commitment to nature.
Indulgence Rooted in Tradition
The heart of the resort is the neoclassical estate building dating from 1745. It is complemented by the modern Park Building and the former horse stable, which today houses a stylish brasserie and an exclusive wellness area. Culinary highlights are served at the “Schlossrestaurant 1745,” which features Mediterranean-inspired fine dining with regional accents. The historic ambiance provides an extraordinary setting for weddings, events, and special occasions. Guests can round off a perfect day by the Baltic Sea in the elegant fireplace lounge with a selection of wines, cocktails, or champagne.
