Münchhausen Castle Hotel
The 16th-century Schlosshotel Münchhausen, which has been completely restored, thoughtfully blends modern comforts with historical antiques.
Enjoying Nature
The Schlosshotel Münchhausen is a true jack-of-all-trades. First and foremost, it is a dream for every golfer: two 18-hole courses are located right next to the hotel. Simply get up, enjoy a hearty breakfast, and then walk to the golf course. Those who don’t mind a slightly longer walk will find additional courses in the beautiful Weserbergland region. But the historic castle park is also a sensation. Take an exclusive stroll through one of the earliest English landscape gardens in continental Europe. Laid out in 1750, you’ll marvel at the impressive solitary trees here.
Celebrate special occasions
But it’s not just golf fans who will be happy at the Renaissance castle: a civil wedding ceremony in the pavilion, followed by a church ceremony in the castle chapel, and a lavish celebration in the elegant rooms—anything is possible. With a total of twelve event rooms and its own conference center, the Zehntscheune, the property also offers the perfect setting for seminars, meetings, and conferences.
Relax in style
Idyllically situated in the Weserbergland Nature Park, the hotel’s spa facilities stand out on their own: this light-filled, paradisiacal retreat spans 800 m² and offers a wide variety of amenities. This oasis of well-being features an 18-meter indoor pool with a counter-current system, a sanarium with Liftlight, steam baths, a Finnish sauna (90°C), InfraPLUS seats, the Salina Lounge, an ice fountain, cooling and sensory showers, a spacious sun terrace with floating loungers, relaxation areas, as well as wellness and beauty treatments.
Fine Dining
Head Chef Stephan Krogmann and his team pamper lovers of gourmet cuisine in the newly redesigned gourmet restaurant HILMAR, awarded one star in the Michelin Guide, under the motto “MODERN CLASSICS.”
It presents a cosmopolitan, modern cuisine based on classic French culinary craftsmanship, always with a focus on flavor and product quality.
The newly designed gourmet restaurant HILMAR blends harmoniously into the historic 16th-century walls with stylish elegance. With its bright design, HILMAR embraces the themes of nature and sustainability, visually connecting the new culinary style with the castle park, widely known for its unique botanical features. The restaurant’s new name pays homage to Hilmar von Münchhausen, who laid the foundation stone for the imposing Weser Renaissance building in Schwöbber in 1570.
In the cozy castle cellar, down-to-earth delicacies from Germany and around the world are served, and in the summer, guests can enjoy the restaurant’s fine cuisine on the spacious park terrace overlooking the historic landscape garden. The evening then comes to a cozy close in the Knights’ Hall or at the stylish SCHWÖBBAR.
