Bodenmaiser Hof Hotel
More than 100 years of hotel history is still not nearly enough. Is Bodenmaiser Hof too old to reinvent itself? Not a chance! The hotel, now in its fourth generation under the stewardship of Sandra Geiger-Pauli, is undergoing a major renovation and will be closed until June 30, 2026.
“It’s simply a love story—the Bodenmaiser Hof and me,” gushes owner Sandra Geiger-Pauli. The hotel traces its origins to 1923, when her great-grandparents founded it as a small lemonade and malt beer brewery.
“I feel a duty to the previous generations to keep carrying on,” says the mother of three. “It makes me proud to have this tradition. Every change is painful at first.” That is why it was important to her to preserve the local connection and, for example, use materials that are suited to the region. “The story behind it has to be right and fit who we are,” explains Sandra Geiger-Pauli.
Completion is scheduled for summer 2026,
yet until then guests may still indulge in the 3,500-square-meter wellness area with its array of pools and saunas. Guests may also partake in complimentary guided hiking and cycling excursions through the adjacent Bavarian Forest National Park—whether Nordic walking on Silberberg or ascending the Großer Arber—before surrendering to a range of treatments, such as the “Heavy Leg Massage.” Photographs: Hotel Bodenmaiser Hof
