Sonnenalp Resort
Sustainable values, a strong sense of family, and top-notch service: At the Sonnenalp Resort, we are committed to a clear philosophy that delights connoisseurs. And 2026 marks the beginning of a new era of private living.
Hospitality
Amid the picturesque Alpine panorama, we take a different approach here: Instead of luxurious perfection, cool exclusivity, and interchangeable anonymity, this traditional hotel stands for human qualities. Here, you’ll find the harmony with nature, with others, and with yourself that is often missing in everyday life. At the same time, we uphold the highest standards of service quality and, above all, sustainable, socially responsible practices: For example, a wood chip heating plant, photovoltaic systems, combined heat and power units, and high-efficiency pumps contribute to the renewable energy supply.
The green course beckons
Nestled in the magnificent mountain landscape lie the resort’s well-maintained 18-hole championship course, harmoniously integrated into nature, as well as the Oberallgäu Golf Course. The nearby 6-hole Gundelsberg Golf Course also leaves nothing to be desired with its charming layout and offers everything a golfer’s heart desires. The entire golf resort is a member of the Leading Golf Clubs of Germany. It quickly becomes clear that the resort rightly ranks among Europe’s leading golf resorts: here, a passion for the sport of golf is rekindled every day and lived with the utmost enthusiasm. In the midst of one of Germany’s most picturesque regions, you can play freely and enjoy the restful tranquility, interrupted only occasionally by the soft clacking of balls. It would be very difficult to find a similarly perfect combination of sport, relaxation, and nature in this form anywhere else.
Relaxation awaits
Those seeking the ultimate relaxation after a workout will find it in the wellness area of the Sonnenalp Resort: Spanning over 20,000 square meters, this indoor and outdoor oasis of well-being features various saunas, a fitness center, treatment rooms, rock pools, and whirlpools, as well as a 30-degree indoor pool with bubble loungers, a waterfall, and massage jets. 11 pools create an impressive aquatic world. Small sun decks with comfortable wellness loungers, the light-filled spring garden, and the natural spa for adults invite you to relax. The indoor sauna world was redesigned in 2021 and features a herbal sauna, a bio sauna, and a Finnish sauna. In the nature spa for adults, a log cabin sauna and a panoramic sauna also invite you to enjoy a variety of sauna experiences. In addition, a natural lake and the water lily pond are ready for pleasant hours of relaxation. On the yoga deck right on the lakeshore, a fitness team treats you to relaxing body-and-mind exercises and yoga sessions—a fantastic view of the Hörnerkette mountains included.
The finest cuisine is served
Exquisite dining in a stylish setting—at the Silberdistel restaurant, this combination comes together effortlessly. Honored with 1 Michelin star and 16 points from Gault&Millau, Chef Florian Wagenbach creates culinary masterpieces for his guests. Styled by Augsburg-based interior designer Evi Rupprecht, this striking restaurant with a breathtaking view of the Allgäu Alps is the premier destination for gourmets. Those who prefer a rustic style will find the perfect setting in the eight dining rooms. Here, alongside regional delicacies, guests are drawn to local woods, velvety deerskin, and furniture handcrafted by Allgäu artisans. In Fässler’s Grillstube, you can watch the chefs prepare steaks right before your eyes. At the Anna’s Pool Restaurant, nestled in the heart of the romantic spring garden, you can enjoy coffee and cake as well as light snacks.
