Weissenhaus Private Nature Luxury Resort

1st Place: The “Private Nature Luxury Resort” is a retreat for the soul. Guests seeking relaxation, spa treatments, and culinary delights will experience hospitality of the highest caliber.

At Weissenhaus, you will encounter a sense of space unlike any other—one you often seek in vain in everyday life and seldom find. It is a space that invites you to unwind in absolute comfort, whether in solitude or in the company of others. Although Weissenhaus is situated on the mainland, you will feel as though you are on an island, far removed from everything that weighs you down or tethers you to the ordinary.

New Family-Friendly Concept 2026

: The resort has reopened its doors to families with children under the age of twelve, thereby moving away from its previous adults-only concept (guests 12 and older). With a new, deliberately “family-friendly” approach, the resort places shared experiences at the center of the experience without compromising on peace and seclusion. Families may select from an array of accommodations, including suites, villas, or rooms with connecting doors, while amenities such as the freely accessible “Chick House” for play and creativity, along with specially crafted fairy tales for children, enrich the experience. Conventional childcare services are not offered, as the emphasis lies on private family time. The spa area has also been refined: Children are welcomed at designated times when accompanied by an adult, while certain zones remain reserved exclusively for adults.

Wide avenues, lush meadows, verdant forests, and a refreshing sea breeze invite contemplation. Even the first steps through the entrance gate of Weissenhaus instil a sense of calm and grounding. Every glance at the wheat-yellow, linden-green, or Baltic Sea-blue surroundings gathers the thoughts. Stress fades and eventually dissolves completely in the fresh sea air. The 75-hectare grounds resemble a historic gem—nestled in the picturesque natural setting of the North German coastal landscape, directly on the 3-kilometer-long natural beach of the Baltic Sea, a listed historic site that has been brought back to life through a loving restoration featuring authentic craftsmanship, traditional materials, and attention to detail.
The fairy-tale-like park provides the setting for your nature-filled stay. The individual suites and rooms—like the various restaurants—are spread across ten buildings on the grounds and have been restored with great attention to detail, partly based on historical models and inspired by their original use. Every building and every room is a singular creation.

Culinary experiences at Weissenhaus

are equally compelling. The prime location of the Bootshaus restaurant, directly on the natural beach, just 20 metres from the water, and the sweeping view of the sea provide the perfect backdrop for unforgettable memories. The kitchen focuses on seasonal produce from local growers, artfully transformed in the style of beloved Italian classics.

In the castle’s NAMI restaurant, with its luminous views through the garden and picture gallery across evergreen meadows to the azure sea, you will be treated to an exquisite array of Asia’s finest flavours. Alongside beloved signatures such as expertly rolled sushi, guests may indulge in homemade dim sum crafted according to authentic Chinese recipes and traditional robata grill specialities executed in classic Japanese style.

Unique Moments of Well-BeingA

stay at the award-winning Schlosstherme is an integral part of your journey toward complete regeneration at Weissenhaus. Spanning over 3,000 m² of wellness space, the Schlosstherme features six different saunas, a private spa, several open wood-burning fireplaces, an activity loft, and a yoga pavilion. Inhale the invigorating aerosols deeply to expand your lung capacity and fortify your immune system. In the Solewaldraum, enjoy the vista of the forest from the salt-and-herb sauna and discover a new, dreamlike perspective from the forest terrace. Exemplary spa treatments and a Vital Bar offering nourishing snacks complete the wellness journey.

Extensive walking and jogging trails wind through the 75-hectare private grounds, offering picturesque routes through the castle park, along the Old Linden Avenue, past the castle pond, and by the art studio at the lake pier. Flooded with light, crowned by a historic glass roof, and suffused with the spicy-fruity aroma of herbs and citrus, the historic greenhouse delivers deep relaxation and a profound sense of well-being. With an unobstructed view of the sky, it is a perfect retreat whatever the weather—ideal for a romantic picnic, for example.

NEW: Bar 1896

In the historic castle vault, Bar 1896 opens up a whole new world. The castle vault is the only part of the castle to have survived a devastating fire. With its name, Bar 1896 commemorates the castle’s reconstruction in 1896 and combines the history of the estate with innovative bar culture. Subdued lighting, vaulted ceilings, and the quiet grandeur of the space create an atmosphere where time and enjoyment merge. Each drink is refined with meticulous attention to detail, using house-made ingredients such as thyme tea, fresh cucumber juice, or house-smoked lime juice.
