Hotel Rungholt
Space, wind and waves. The beauty of nature and the feeling of having arrived. Hotel Rungholt is more than just a retreat - it is a way of life that connects generations.
Family tradition with vision
Situated on one of the most beautiful spots on Sylt, between the mudflats and the North Sea, the lighthouse and the Uwe dune, Hotel Rungholt stands for hospitality with soul - and has done for four generations. What counts here is the real thing: the loving attention to every detail, the personal approach, the appreciation of nature, people and the moment.
65 individually designed rooms frame the heart of the hotel - a light-flooded lobby that combines a cozy retreat with a communicative meeting place. Here you can be who you are: alone with a book and a view, with friends by the fireplace or with a piece of homemade cake. The view sweeps over the heath, to the dune, to the sea - and at some point deep inside.
The Rungholt also strikes its own stylish note in culinary terms: Head chef Frank Zink focuses on modern, clear flavor cuisine that cleverly reinterprets Sylt traditions. Together with restaurant manager Steffen Hansen, the well-coordinated team creates an atmosphere that is as professional as it is warm. Whether it's an extensive breakfast, the changing four-course evening menu or small delicacies in between - it's the naturalness of the interaction that makes a stay here so special.
A place with history - and stories
A highlight of the hotel is the legendary Reiterbar, almost 100 years old, charmingly nostalgic and as lively as ever. Once a meeting place for the equestrian elite, today it is a stylish island institution where bar manager Monika Wallner has been looking after her guests with great flair for two decades. As a certified bar and restaurant manager, she is a rarity - and her skills are a gift.
Whether it's an aperitif with a view, a cocktail with character or a classic Korn for guests on horseback - every moment at the Reiterbar is a statement of style and hospitality. And anyone who knows Monika Wallner knows that no evening ends here without having become a little bit happier.
