Hotel Miramar
What do you want from the sea! History, tradition, personality and a good dose of hospitality are very important at Hotel Miramar on Sylt.
Built close to the water
It's not just the individually designed rooms, no two of which are the same, that are enchanting. The view of the sea is also pure luxury. Getting up and seeing the sea is the epitome of a vacation. After breakfast, holiday-hungry guests can make themselves comfortable in one of the beach chairs on the hotel terrace and relax while watching the seagulls and listening to the sound of the sea.
Tradition for over 100 years
The smart hotel has been in the family for five generations and has survived floods, two wars and several changes of use, such as being converted into a military hospital. The first owner and builder, Otto Busse, almost seemed like a prophet at the beginning of the 20th century when he said: "Sylt has a great future, and that's why I'm buying a piece of land here in a prime location to build a lodging house on." No sooner said than done: Hotel Miramar opened its doors in 1903. Famous personalities such as the writer Gerhart Hauptmann and boxer Max Schmeling loved their stay under the wing of the dedicated owner family, as did parents with children, couples in love and active vacationers.
Committed to Art Nouveau
As the salty air not only whets the appetite for the sea, but also for more, the restaurant serves fresh, regional dishes and Mediterranean cuisine. The bar, which used to house the restaurant, is also wonderful to look at and still retains many charming Art Nouveau elements.
