Ferry House Sylt
The Fährhaus Sylt is a small, fine luxury hotel with a long history. Those who stay here experience the changing tides right outside the balcony door.
After the Hindenburgdamm opened in 1927, ferry traffic to the hotel's front door came to an end, but the guests continued to come. At least until 1980, when the hotel fell into a ten-year slumber, from which it was only kissed awake again in the 1990s. Since then, it has not only shone in great splendor, but has also been extended by a hotel annex.
Timeless elegance
Today, the Fährhaus welcomes its guests with 39 stylish rooms and suites furnished in Nordic design with selected classics.
The accommodation on the so-called "Executive Floor" on the top floor is a particular highlight: all have spacious roof terraces and - depending on the category - offer exclusive extras such as their own steam bath or a cosmetics fridge.
Many guests' favorite spot is the library with a Scandinavian tiled stove, midcentury furniture and a huge selection of books and magazines.
Great cuisine
You should have an aperitif in the library at least once before heading to Selmer's restaurant, where you will be spoiled with upscale regional cuisine à la carte - for example with buratini of Holstein water buffalo or carrée of dyke lamb. A daily changing 4-course menu is also available for house guests
For larger events for up to 40 people, the Mara Sand is available, which is located on the second floor and offers a fantastic view of the harbor and far across the Wadden Sea.
The Victorian terrace of the Fährhaus Sylt enchants with its nostalgic charm and fantastic view of Munkmarsch harbor.
The Fährhaus offer is rounded off by a first-class spa area with indoor pool, whirlpool, steam bath, bio and Finnish sauna, outdoor sauna and sunbathing lawn, foot pool, ice fountain, relaxation room, seating area with drinks station, fitness room (72 m²), beauty and massage rooms.
