Tradition & Owner Family

For over 160 years, the owner family has shaped the character of the hotel. Founded by the great-grandparents, the Europäischer Hof is now run with great dedication by Caroline von Kretschmann, representing the fourth generation. As one of the few privately owned five-star city hotels in Germany, the hotel combines time-honored tradition with contemporary excellence. The values-driven approach consistently upheld since the takeover by Ernst-Friedrich and Sylvia von Kretschmann in 1965 remains the foundation to this day.

Team & Corporate Culture

165 dedicated employees, including 30 trainees, contribute daily to the hotel’s unique atmosphere. An empathetic, appreciative leadership and corporate culture is at the heart of this. Our conviction: Only those who experience appreciation themselves can authentically pass it on. This attitude is evident throughout the entire guest journey—both internally and externally.

91 rooms, 16 junior suites, 3 executive suites, and five serviced apartments combine timeless elegance with modern comfort. Culinary-wise, the Kurfürstenstube sets the standard with fine French cuisine and a wine list featuring over 400 selections. In the summer, the restaurant with its indoor garden complements the offerings with light, seasonal culinary delights. The Europa Bar and Smokers Lounge provide stylish spaces for relaxed evenings.

The 600-square-meter spa and fitness area, with views of Heidelberg Castle and the Odenwald, offers space for holistic relaxation. Personalized training sessions, high-quality treatments, and individual attention ensure tailor-made relaxation at the highest level.
