Elmau Castle
A sprawling park, the imposing Wetterstein mountain, a rushing mountain stream, and the deafening silence of this magnificent natural setting: Schloss Elmau is the perfect retreat.
At the highest level
At Schloss Elmau, living is elevated to a high art of living. The architecture and interior design are characterized by a tension between complexity, diversity, and contradiction. In the spacious yet intimate rooms of the two 5-star hotels, natural materials from around the world are combined with a keen eye for detail and understated elegance to create contemporary comfort. The beauty of the untouched mountain landscape and the raw textures of the materials are seamlessly integrated with subtle Asian influences and warm lighting to form an artistic overall concept. The cosmopolitan ambiance of these refuges—furnished in a style that is as individual as it is timelessly modern—is further enhanced by luxurious beds from Schramm, oiled oak parquet flooring, American cherry wood cabinets, spacious bathrooms featuring natural Jura stone, handwoven carpets from Iran, and the finest linen from India.
Refined
Schloss Elmau offers a unique cultural program featuring first-class concerts, readings, and discussions. International artists, authors, and thinkers perform in an intimate atmosphere—a cultural gem in the heart of the Alps that inspires both mind and senses. In addition to music and literature, Schloss Elmau also offers inspiring retreats, yoga workshops, and philosophical discussions. The combination of nature, culture, and intellectual depth makes the estate a special place for encounters and inner reflection.
Wellness Temple
Those seeking ultimate relaxation will be amazed at Schloss Elmau—because no fewer than six spas await wellness enthusiasts! The bathhouse, featuring an infinity rooftop pool, an infinity saltwater pool, and a cold plunge pool, is exclusively for adults. Additionally, the Finnish sauna and saltwater steam bath entice with soothing warmth, while the sun deck invites you to relax. Also located in the bathhouse is the Lady Spa, complete with a Finnish sauna and an intimate relaxation room. In the Oriental Hamam, also reserved for adults, the Orient meets the Occident: spread over 500 square meters, there are three domed rooms with navel stones, four treatment rooms, two steam baths, and an Oriental Tea Lounge! From June to September, the Natur Spa beckons all guests as a vast oasis of tranquility and energy right on the Ferchenbach. At the Family Spa, families and children find their wellness bliss in the lap pool and the various themed saunas. Additionally, there are special treatments for children and teenagers in the bathhouse. The Shantigiri Spa offers separate areas for adults and families—with an open-air infinity lap pool, a fitness area, and a large relaxation room featuring an open fireplace and views of the mountains.

A stay at Schloss Elmau quickly turns into a culinary world tour, as guests are pampered in no fewer than 10 restaurants.
